Viewdle Wins 2011 CTIA E-Tech Award for Innovation In a Mobile Application

Viewdle, today was named the winner in the Social Networking/Content/Entertainment category of CTIA’s annual Emerging Technology (E-Tech) Awards competition. The CTIA E-Tech Awards honor the most innovative new products in 14 categories spanning the areas of mobile apps, consumer electronics, enterprise and infrastructure. The winners were announced at International CTIA WIRELESS® 2011, currently taking place at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida. Viewdle won the award in a hotly contested category, which included companies like Verizon, Intel, Samsung and Ogmento, to name a few.

Viewdle Optimizes Facial Recognition SDK on TI's Blaze^TM Mobile Development Platform

Viewdle Releases Facial Recognition Software Development Kit for Mobile Developers

Viewdle launched the first software development kit (SDK) that enables hardware and software developers to incorporate facial recognition technology into their applications. Viewdle partner integrations will be announced during the course of the conference. Viewdle's recognition technology is optimized for mobile, requiring low processing power while benefiting from fast processing, and is unique in its ability to recognize who's in the viewfinder at the point of capture. It automatically identifies multiple people at once in videos, and in photos and tags them with a name. With the release of this SDK, devel opers will now be able to integrate this technology at the core of their applications.

Viewdle Raises $10 Million in Series B Funding From Best Buy, BlackBerry Partners Fund and Qualcomm

Viewdle, the leading independent consumer-focused facial recognition company, today announced that it has raised $10 million in Series B funding from Best Buy, BlackBerry Partners Fund and Qualcomm. Viewdle's Series A investor Anthem Venture Partners also participated in this new funding round. This new investment will be used for the launch of new consumer products over the coming months. In conjunction with this investment, Best Buy Capital's Kuk Yi and John Albright from BlackBerry Partners Fund will join Viewdle's Board. Viewdle has developed the only commercially available technology capable of real-time, cross-platform visual analysis at the point of capture.
